A Foreign Experience

Fred had the opportunity to go to Mexico and Belize with a couple of guy friends. It was the kind of opportunity that doesn't come along very often and for the price that he was paying, so I was all for him going. Even though it left me with the kids for 9 days! But I had "the grandpas" come for a visit and that helped a lot!
He had some amazing experiences! I think his favorite part was the traveling by plane, boat and bus!
Ha ha! Thank goodness for Dramamine!

He was able to see some amazing ruins. I think that he called them the Ruins of Tulum. It is where the Spanish Conquistadors landed and it is neat seeing the temple overlooking the ocean.
Besides seeing ruins, Fred was able to do a lot of scuba diving. He doesn't have a lot of pictures of himself scuba diving because he was the one with the underwater camera. That meant people wanted him to take pictures of them! But he does have one picture that the boys think is pretty awesome, and I don't know what I think! When they were on one of their dives the dive master grabbed a nurse shark by the top fin and rolled it over. I guess when they are on their back they go "submissive" but I don't think shark and submissive should be in the same sentence. Fred saw the dive master do this and thought that looked pretty cool and so he did it! CRAZY!!!! So he had to have his picture taken to prove he did it! He also dove into a place called the "Blue hole" and it is 130 feet deep! I am not sure if I have the courage to go underwater exploring but he brought back some neat pictures.

The boys and I have enjoyed hearing MOST of his stories but we are really glad to have him back here with us!
